Granted, I'm not familiar with spectra photosync, so maybe their tint runs a little "darker" (like some shoe sizes run "smaller"), but visit a tint shop and they should have some cling films that you can put on the car to get an idea of how it will look. Here is the info I am using. You might not even be able to tell it's there, because BMWs' side and rear glass are already tinted to about 85% 55% should be juuuuuuuuuuust barely noticeable and 35% is generally what people use on their side windows here in Michigan (and then 15% on the rear window is pretty common). Anyone know if that was done? Curiously also no discussion whatsoever if there might be any adverse impact of doing so.Well, it's only been one day. Result could be that I take Thermal/noise insulated glass off my build which I'd prefer not to do! ![]() I had planned to add all to my build once here later this year but I'm now actively seeking actual data on this vs hearsay. Very often, they only present a high IRR but the performance drops off after. Most films in the industry that claims a high IRR specification do so without specifying at which wavelength they test it at. unsupported 'modification' under warranty. Currently, we have three (3) available tiers of film options to choose from, starting with the most basic, aesthetic tint upgrade, and moving up towards a full spectrum of solar adaptive PhotoSync technology. Spectra PhotoSync IRD is able to reject up to 99 of the IR up to 2200nm and up to 80 of the heat TSER (Total Solar Energy Rejection). Argument is that heat absorption into the glass is increased in either location and more thermal stress added to the glass - result of which could conceivably be that the Pano glass might crack under the load!ĭid any of you have this discussion or was it referenced in any way with your installer(s) - more importantly are you aware of any Porsche warranty issues in respect adding such films to the Pano roof and/or side windows i.e. Hey - actually yet to watch the vid which I will do but there is an ongoing dicussion as to the safety of adding ceramic or IR reducing film to the Pano roof and potentially to any thermal insulated glass.
